UPDATE: Russia’s AvtoVAZ boosts car sales 37% to 27,400 cars in Feb

MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ increased sales 37% on the year to 27,400 cars in February, Executive Vice-President for sales and marketing Jan Ptacek said on Thursday.

“The good news is that the market grows and grows considerably. Other good news is that we are raising sales. In January, our market share was over 20%. We have no exact figures for February, but hope for a 20% share, too,” he said.

The executive also said that his company plans to increase 2018 exports without disclosing the figures.

“Last year we exported 24,000 cars which marked a 27% rise… This year we also plan to raise exports,” he said and added that AvtoVAZ is in talks on export contracts to new countries.
